Refresh2019

The Dataset Refresh2019 contains the shapefiles cut by province of the land use by photointerpretation provided by SIAN. The “Refresh” project started in 2007 aims to update the land cover/use information of SIAN’s LPIS (Identification System of Agricultural Parks) in a comprehensive manner, which is the instrument by which Italy checks the eligibility of agricultural land under the various Community aid schemes. The information assets of the LPIS come from an initial survey activity, started in 1998 to survey all areas declared as a contribution over three years (1998/2000). Since 2007, the original information base has been completely renewed (hence the name Refresh) using high-resolution aerial images, in particular color orthophotos with a spatial resolution of 50 cm. The methodology of photointerpretation adopted provides for the complete delimitation of plots (construed as continuous portions of land with homogeneous land cover/use) regardless of the cadastral boundaries and the territorial consistency of the holdings registered in the register of SIAN.
