Dataset description

The Regional Inventory for Ambient Emissions (IREA), prepared by the Piedmont Region, is a systematic and coherent collection of data relating to a series of pollutants emitted as a result of anthropogenic and natural activities. The inventory complies with the provisions of Article 22(3) of Legislative Decree No 155/2010. Through the estimates it is possible to identify the sectors on which to take action to reduce polluting emissions. The estimates made concern sources classified according to the SNAP nomenclature (Selected Nomenclature for Air Pollution) and refer to pollutants: methane (CH4), carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrous oxide (N2O), ammonia (NH3), non-methane volatile organic compounds (VOC), nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulphur dioxide (SOx) and fine powders (PM10 and PM2.5). The Inventory is made on the basis of EMEP-CORINAIR methodology. On the basis of this methodology, in-depth studies are carried out by the INEMAR Group (the regions of Lombardy, Piedmont, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Emilia Romagna, Puglia and the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano and, from 2009 onwards, the Marche Region), which has developed a software application, called INEMAR, used by the partners. In the Inventory, the emissions of the various pollutants are estimated at municipal level by activity (e.g.: heating, traffic, agriculture and industry) and for fuel, according to the SNAP international classification adopted under EMEP-CORINAIR inventories.Alphanumeric data download da:http://www.sistemapiemonte.it/fedwinemar/scarichi.jsp
