Dataset description

Areas where fishing is restricted by means of ‘dragons’: gear actively towed by the main engine of the fishing vessel (boat dredge) or pulled by a power-driven winch of an anchored vessel (mechanised dragon) to catch bivalve molluscs, gastropods or sponges. Ledragues drawn by hand or by a winch by hand in shallow water with or without a vessel for the capture of bivalve molluscs, gastropods or sponges (hand dredges) shall not be considered as towed gear.
