Dataset description
Extra-urban road sections requiring priority attention and showing interesting trends. The traits identified as critical are those that show the coexistence of two characteristics: a high number of accidents and the persistence of this data over time. In order to measure the problems, the characteristics described above have been measured using a synthetic index, defined as criticality, calculated as the product between the number of accidents in the section taken into account outside the town in the last available years (2004, 2006 and 2007) and its coefficient of self-correlation with unit delay (calculated for the whole period 1991-2004, 1991-2006, 1991-2007).
