Dataset description

Raster cartography in a scale of 1:50,000, extended to the entire territory of the Tuscany Region, conceived as a theme of support to the knowledge framework of the I invariant and to analyses on landscape issues in the context of the activities to revise the landscape discipline of the PIT of the Tuscany Region. The information contained allows a reading of the territory according to the main geomorphological characteristics of the Tuscan landscape. The paper was built by highlighting the visual expression of morphology and morphogenetic systems and completing the reading of the territory with invariant elements of clear landscape value such as geosites, springs and karst forms. The map is the result of the integrated processing of information available in the regional geographical information system and data from public databases. It is aimed at the representation of the morphogenetic characteristics of the Tuscan territory, that is, the objectively recognizable elements of the physical structure of the landscape, defined by a combination of the factors that govern the development of the forms of relief (structural, temporal and geological factors). The process of constructing the Charter has been structured so that it can be updated by changing its component elements.
