Dataset description

The map represents the Hydrographic Network, carried out in accordance with the procedure described below. It was decided to use as a starting point the hydrographic grid of the Regional Technical Charter 1:10 thousand vector CT10 both because it is a continuous data throughout the regional territory and because in recent projects (2006-2008) it has been updated by verifying the connection of the arcs of the grid and the orientation of the arches. The CT10 hydrographic grid has a limit: it is not very suitable for the identification of artificial hydrographic lattice. For the artificial hydrographic grid, it was decided to refer to the Sibiter, which concerns only the plain territory of Lombardy. Having identified the hydrographic base from which to start, a procedure was created in ArcGis 9.3.1 desktop environment capable of projecting on the above-mentioned basis the hydrographic networks of SIBA, RIP, Water Management Plan.
