Dataset description

# Event of 10/10/2018 — high hydrogeological risk and moderate hydraulic for the Cagliari area. Between 9 and 11 October there is a baric minimum on the Balearic Islands, which moves very slowly towards the Iberian Peninsula, braked, to the north and east, by a high pressure field involving Central and Central-Eastern Europe. Sardinia is affected by a hot and humid ventilation from the south-east that produces local precipitation since the day of 9. The days of 10 and 11 are those in which rainfall reaches high or very high levels, especially in Sulcis-Iglesiente, Quirra and Sarrabus, areas most exposed to the effects of the wet ventilation of Scirocco. The rain station of Santa Lucia di Capoterra measures 437 mm of rain in 24h, of which 82 mm in 1h; Capoterra 218 mm, of which 86 in 1h; that of Decimomannu 136 mm, of which 46 in 1h; Villaspeciosa in Iglesiente 183 mm, of which 56 in 1h. For the station of Santa Lucia di Capoterra is the record since its installation. However, often in this area of Sardinia were recorded cumulatively comparable with hourly rainfall, which on 22 October 2008 reached 150 mm/h. As far as Cagliari station is concerned, the cumulatives were 34 mm for Day 10 and 58 mm for Day 11, with a maximum intensity of 9 mm in 15 minutes at 7 am.
