Work: employment status of residents aged 15 and over by gender

The dataset contains estimates of employment, jobseekers (unemployed) and inactive, by gender, since 2004 onwards. The source is the Continuing Labour Forces Survey (Rcfl) conducted quarterly by ISTAT: as a sample survey, the data are estimated. For further information on the Rcfl: www.istat.it. The data are released in two versions with different reference population: range of età:15-64 years and 15 years and more. A brief definition of the data follows: * EMPLOYED: they include people aged 15 and over than in the reference week of the interview: have worked at least one hour in any activity which provides for monetary or in kind consideration or have worked at least one hour of unpaid work in the company of a family member in which they normally work; they are absent from work (e.g. for holidays or illness), but the absence does not exceed 3 months (in the case of employees and family workers) or they continue to work (in the case of self-employed persons, excluding family workers). * JOBSEEKERS: include persons not in employment aged 15 years and over and beyond: have carried out at least one active job-search action within the 30 days preceding the interview and are available to work (or start a self-employment) within two weeks of the interview; or, they will start a job within three months of the date of the interview and are available to work (or start a self-employment) within two weeks of the interview, if it is possible to anticipate the start of work. * INACTIVE: it is people who do not work and do not seek work (population under 15 years of age, students, housewives, pensioners and those who are not active in finding a job).
