Dataset description

Audiovisual documment about Emaischen in 1937. As every year the Emäischen market experienced a strong influx in 1937. Young crinoline ladies offer traditional decorated Easter eggs. A sign above them says: Keeft Ouschteréer an Teckt. Kids are rushing in front of the camera. A woman (in fur coat) and a man clap their eggs against each other. Men are talking to each other. At a lottery you can win terracotta items, at another stand taste a “daddy’s beard”. Panel: “Let’s Prinzessinercher sin och gären Dobei”. The Royal Princesses and their brother CHARLES descend the stairs of the Palace to the crowd waiting for them below, suvis from their governess. They buy some memories. The crowd is rushing, extremely large, around them and on the square. Some policemen surround the children. The princely children drop off balloons to which a paper is attached. With hands full of gifts and sweets, they go up the stairs of the Palace. In the end there is an advertisement for Bertogne’s store.
