Dataset description

This table contains data on absenteeism of workers aged 15 to 75, by region (country, province and RegioPlus labour market region). This includes workers who are employed but do not provide work due to illness, maternity leave or other temporary career breaks. Furthermore, the table also contains data on the last case of absenteeism of employees. This absenteeism can be more than 12 months ago. The figures refer to three-year averages. Data available from: 2014/2016. Status of the figures: Figures in this table are final. Amendments as of 16 June 2022: If the number of samplers for a given target population is less than 200, no results are presented in these StatLine tables due to excessive margins. For the reporting years 2014 to 2020, the results on the issue of ‘Employees who have failed’ were mistakenly based on the size of the total group of employees. This has been corrected. Some figures on the topic “Employees who have failed” have been replaced by a point. In addition, the figures for 2014 to 2020 have been corrected. In the previous version, in the years 2014 to 2020, individuals with SBI code ‘88990’ were mistakenly included in the youth care sector, while underlying SBI codes can be counted among different branches. With this correction, persons with SBI code 88990 are no longer counted to the Youth Care (but to non-AZW). In addition, in the figures for the year 2020, a number of ‘wide’ SBI codes were counted into specific AZW sectors, while the underlying SBI codes can be counted into different branches. The people with these broad SBI codes are also no longer counted into the AZW sectors in this version. Finally, figures for 2019/2021 have been added. Changes as of 20 May 2021: Annual figures for 2020 have been added. The figures for 2014 to 2019 have been corrected. In the previous version, persons who became 75 years old during the field work were mistakenly not counted. With this correction, these persons are counted. When are new figures coming? The figures for the previous year shall be published by May at the latest.
