Dataset description

This file contains the acidification sensitive areas (WAV). With the ammonia and livestock farming Act (WAV), the government limits ammonia emissions and therefore acidification in the environment of nature reserves. On the basis of this law, the province of Groningen has designated the ammonia sensitive areas (see Environmental Regulation 2016). In these highly vulnerable areas and in a buffer zone of 250 metres around it, no new livestock farms may be established and the expansion possibilities for existing livestock farms are limited. This dataset is included in the Provincial Environment Vision 2016-2020 and the Environment Regulation 2016.
