Dataset description

This Statline table contains data on the area of apples and pear trees in the Netherlands with breakdown by variety and by region. It concerns the following data: — The area at the beginning of a season (1 April); — The area at the end of a season (31 March); — The area grubbed; — The planted area; — Balance of growth = planted area minus grubbed area (= area end of season minus area at the beginning). The data are available from the 1992/‘93 to 2005/’06 season. Appearance Frequency: stop it. In 2003 it was decided on the CBS survey 'Rooiing and planting apples and pears’ no more to carry out. The abolition of this survey has no impact on the availability of the figures for the total area on apple trees or pear trees. The breakdown by region also provides no problems, but the breakdown by race does. That is, from the 2003/'04 season, CBS will no longer bring figures to outside over the area grubbed and planted, broken down by apple and peer race. For each breed, CBS continues to bring out figures on the area at the beginning/end of the season and the related area “salt was added.” This table was discontinued in 2007 due to the appearance of a new table of production apples and pears. The table production of apples and pears combines the data from the tables harvest estimate of apples and pears and area apples and pears from 2004 onwards.
