Dataset description

This table establishes a relationship between the municipal classification (the lowest administrative level in the Netherlands) on 1 January 2022 and various subdivisions of the Dutch territory at upper-municipal level. With the information from this table, figures from municipalities can be added together, so that figures can also be calculated at upper-community level. For the classification by tourist areas, exceptions apply to this. In the table, click the relevant column header (“Tourist Areas”) to get detailed information. The table is composed of: — Codes and names of municipalities. — Localisations of municipalities. This indicates which upper-municipal areas a municipality belongs to. — Size and urbanity of municipalities. — Statistical data. This includes the population and the environmental address density. This data is based on the size and urbanity of municipalities. For each municipality, the table shows which upper-municipal areas the municipality is part of. On the other hand, the corresponding municipalities can be searched for in the parts of the country, provinces and COROP areas. Data available for 2022. Status of the figures: The localisation data are final. Changes as of August 2022: The “Regional units” classification of the police has been added. When are new figures coming? In autumn, a new table showing the most recent area layouts for the coming year will be compiled. Not all area classifications and statistical data are already available, which will be added in the following months. The statistical data will also be added at the end of March. The data shall be definitively established in the summer of the year. See section 3 for a link to the other annual tables.
