Dataset description

This table provides insight into the number of outstanding claims that municipalities have on (ex) recipients of assistance or assistance-related benefits, as well as the balance involved. The data are broken down into the following characteristics: — origination ground in accordance with legislation before and from 2013 onwards; — region (the breakdown by regional areas is based on the municipality that paid the claim and not on the municipality of the person to whom the claim relates); — as from 01-01-2019, fine claims for infringement of the obligation to provide information without prejudice have been added to the claims for fines (legislation from 2013 onwards). With retroactive effect, from 1 March 2020, the temporary bridging scheme for self-employed entrepreneurs (Tozo) will enter into force. This has led to an increase from March 2020 in the number/balance of assistance claims, in particular in the case of cash loans and undue payments. Data available from: January 2013 Status of the figures: The figures in this table are final except for the last 12 months. The numbers and amounts in the table refer to outstanding claims throughout the reporting month. Changes as of 31 October 2022 The provisional figures from April to June 2022 are added. The municipality of Weesp has been added to the municipality of Amsterdam as of 1 January 2022. When are new figures coming? New figures come in January 2023.
