Dataset description

This table contains figures on the average population of the Netherlands by age, gender, marital status and region. The regions listed in the table are territories, provinces, COROP areas and municipalities. The regional totals presented concern aggregations of municipalities. In case of border changes that cross different regional borders, the division of the municipalities is grouped according to the most recent situation. For example: for the municipality of Vianen, which has moved from the province of Zuid-Holland to the province of Utrecht as of 01-01-2002, it is grouped in the table in the province of Utrecht. Data available from: 1995-2016 Status of the figures: All figures in the table are final. Processing border change Rotterdam and Rozenburg in 2010 As of 18 March 2010, the municipality of Rozenburg was dissolved and transferred in its entirety to the municipality of Rotterdam. For practical reasons, the calculation of the average population of Rotterdam in 2010 added the populations of Rotterdam and Rozenburg on 1 January 2010. Changes as of 20 April 2018: None, this table has been discontinued. When are new figures coming? The figures from this table will be in the Population table on 1 January and on average; gender, age and region continue (see paragraph 3).
