Dataset description

This table contains figures on workers by country of residence and working region in the Netherlands, Belgium, Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia. The data can be further disaggregated by gender and nationality. These are workers employed in a given region regardless of age. The working regions considered are all the municipalities of the Netherlands and Belgium and the neighbouring German Länder of North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony. This information has been compiled as part of an Interreg project within the Germany-Netherlands and Flanders-Netherlands programme to make cross-border labour market data available. Data available from: 2010. Reporting period Belgium and the Netherlands: 2010-2019 Germany: 2010-2017 Status of the figures: The figures in this table are definitive. Changes as of 25 March 2022 Figures for 2019 have been added. In addition, the dates for old years have changed slightly for some regions. The German data has been delivered again, so we have fewer strangers. The Dutch data has been changed because newer versions of various registrations have been used and the method of imputing unknown information has been improved. Changes as of 12 February 2021 The Dutch figures for 2018 have been added. The Belgian figures for 2010-2015 and 2017-2018 have been added. The Belgian figures by nationality have been added. For this purpose, Belgian figures by nationality were not available in this table. The Belgian regional classification has been adjusted according to the reclassifications in 2019. Due to an improvement in the method used, there have been changes in the Dutch figures. Changes as of 20 December 2019 The Belgian data for 2016 have been added. When will there be new figures? The new figures will be available in the fourth quarter of 2022.
