Dataset description

In this table you will find information on the number of withdrawals of establishments of companies. Companies that definitively cease operations may have multiple locations where the business activities are carried out. All these closed business locations are counted here separately. The data is available by economic activity, based on the 2008 Standard Business Classification (SBI 2008). The data are also available by region based on the regional breakdown as of 1 January of the reporting year. Data available from: 2007 Status of the figures: The figures up to 2019 are final, the 2020 figures are further provisional and the figures for 2021 are provisional. Amendments as of 17 June 2022: The provisional figures for 2021 have been added, the 2020 figures have been adjusted and are now further provisional. The figures for 2019 are now final. The underlying encodings of the classifications used in this table (SBI 2008 and region) have been adjusted. These are now in line with the standard coding established by CBS. From 2015 onwards, data on the following sectors (including details) have been added to the table: O Public administration and public services P Education Q Health and welfare care T Households A-U All economic activities The following regional formats have been added to the table: Netherlands, Abroad, Unclassifiable The Netherlands; not to be classified When are new figures coming? The new figures are usually available 3 months after the end of the reporting year.
