Dataset description

This table provides figures on the turnover development of business and ICT service providers (SBI 2008 Sections J, M and N). Previously, the table on the evolution of the turnover of the Information and Communications sector was published separately, but it is now integrated into business services. The trend is shown as a percentage change from a previous period and by indexes based on the 2015 base year. Turnover developments are published in two forms. First of all, as year-on-year developments where growth is central to the same period in the previous year. These figures are presented uncorrected. The second form concerns period-on-period developments, e.g. quarter-on-quarter. Period-on-period developments are possible by applying seasonal adjustment. Data available from: 1st quarter of 2005. Status of the figures: The figures for 2021 are provisional, those for the other periods are definitive. The figures for a calendar year shall become definitive no later than five months after the end of that calendar year. Due to fulfilled response, the figures may change until then and the status of ‘provisional’ is maintained. Changes as of 28 February 2022: The figures for Q4 2021 have been added. Figures from previous periods in 2021 may have been adjusted. As a result of the above change as of 30 November 2021, the seasonally adjusted indices for SBI 79 and SBI 7912 have become unreliable. These should not have been shown. This has now been corrected. For the SBI 7912 Travel agencies, there was an extreme development in the third quarter of 2020 compared to a quarter earlier. Once an alternative calculation method should have been used to properly process this development. Therefore, the index for this quarter has been adjusted. As a result of this adjustment, the indices for Q4 2020, Q1 2021 and Q2 2021 have also changed. Seasonally adjusted indices have changed from Q1 2013 to Q2 2021. The reason for this is that the adjustments to the regular indices from Q3 2020 have a major impact on the seasonal component of this index series, which is reflected in the seasonally adjusted indices for previous years. The above mentioned changes in the SBI 7912 Travel Organisation Agencies also work in the parent publishing groups (79, N, M-N). When will there be new figures? For quarterly statistics, the CBS publishes on the last working day of the second month following the quarter. After publication of the final results, the CBS adapts the results only if major adjustments and/or corrections are necessary.
