Dataset description

This map shows the percentage of elderly people living in the warmest neighbourhoods of the province of South Holland. For this, an age limit of 65 years has been maintained. The warmest neighbourhoods displayed are based on the Climate Effect Atlas of 2020, showing on this map the neighborhoods that due to the urban heat island effect become at least two degrees warmer. Older people are particularly vulnerable at higher temperatures*. This card is intended to help organisations prioritise their efforts, by providing insight into the warm neighbourhoods in which many elderly people live. You can then choose to be the first to work in these neighbourhoods. The neighbourhoods in the province of Zuid-Holland where the temperature rises less than two degrees, and neighbourhoods where less than 10 % of residents older than 65 years old are not shown on this map.
