Dataset description

This table provides information on the composition of the capacity of households by characteristics such as household composition, age and origin of the main cost-winner, main source of income, housing situation, region, income group, asset group and asset class. The compilation of the figures has changed in a few parts per research year 2012 compared to previous years: As of 2012, the results are based on integral observation. The previously published results up to 2011 are based on a sample. In order to allow comparison between 2012 and 2011, results based on both sample and integral observation were included for 2011. As of 2012, more complete information on bank and savings deposits and securities will be available. In other words, all small assets are observed. As a result, there are more households with these assets. This has a lowering effect on the averages and percentiles of these components, while the total amount increases only marginally. From 2012 onwards, the assets other than own property are also covered by the assumption that each household owns this item. This has an effect on the averages and percentiles of this component, the total amount remains the same. Data available from 2002 to 2014. The dataset relates to the stand as of 1 January. Status of the figures The data is final. Changes as of 31 July 2018: None, this table has been discontinued. When are new figures coming? No longer applicable. Due to a revision of income statistics, this table is replaced. New figures are published under the theme Income and spending, see links below.
