Dataset description

What do you see: Soil aspects of the top layer that contribute to a good local and global climate What is the value: soil plays a key role in climate regulation and can be used to mitigate the effects of climate change. A large amount of reduced carbon is stored in the soil, more carbon than is present in the atmosphere. This map does not capture CO2 emissions in peatlands. The soil in the built environment contributes to preventing the heat island effect (local climate). Important for: climate and water management, soil management in the built-up area, in the agricultural area, and in particular the peat area.
