Dataset description

The Environmental Vision was adopted by Provinciale Staten on 2 June 2010. Map 6 shows the COROP areas. A COROP area is a regional area within the Netherlands that is part of the COROP classification. This classification is used for analytical purposes. The name COROP comes from the Coordination Committee Regional Research Programme. This was the name of the committee that designed the division of the Netherlands into COROP areas in 1971. In total, there are 40 COROP areas in the Netherlands. Each COROP area is a merging of municipalities.
