Costs and financing; nature and landscape management

This table provides information on the annual costs for the acquisition, establishment and management of nature sites and the conservation of nature values of the landscape. The costs of own activities in the field of nature and landscape are, in principle, determined separately for each economic sector. In addition, financial transfers between sectors are also observed separately. This gives the possibility to determine the total (net) financial burden for a sector. The sectors observed are the local government, the national government, the provincial nature conservation organisations with or without land under ownership, the other nature conservation organisations, industry and private forestry. From 2001 to 2013, the costs and financing of the nature and landscape management of the sectors in the Netherlands will be published once every two years (even years), as of 2013 they will be published annually. As of 2013, only the transfers earmarked by the government as nature and landscape management will be taken into account abroad. From the publication of the 2013 figures, only the years for which data are available (1999 and later) and missing data are displayed as a point. Data available from: 1999. As part of the revision policy, the breakdowns of public expenditure by function have been revised from 2015. When are new figures coming? The final figures for 2020 will be published at the end of September 2022.
