Dataset description

The database of the MIDDEN project (Manufacturing Industry Decarbonisation Data Exchange Network) contains information about the current energy and material consumption of the manufacturing industry in the Netherlands and possibilities for decarbonisation of its processes. The MIDDEN project aims to support industry, policy makers, analysts and the energy sector in their joint efforts to achieve far-reaching decarbonisation. In the future, in close cooperation with industry, the project will continue to update and further develop the options. The database will also be updated accordingly. Data is aggregated to a certain extent and, where necessary, based on information from public sources and/or own calculations. It does not reflect the actual situation at any of the locations, but rather is a high-level display. No conclusions about an individual industry or company can be derived from this dataset. The database contains the following information: GPD (General Plant Data) contains basic information about the factories included in the database. PCD (Plant Configuration Data) links the installations to the technologies used. TC (Technology Characteristics) specifies information about the technologies used in the installation configurations. CD (Commodity Data) lists all inputs and outputs of raw materials, energy and products represented in the database.
