Dataset description

Inventory for National Reporting of Dried Nature Areas and Drought Control Projects. Data also used for the “Drying Card 2002 of the Netherlands”. (Date of 1 January 2003). Pop, map 15. and POPII, map 12.Drying only occurs in nature reserves. It occurs in situations where the groundwater level or the quality of groundwater cannot adequately meet the needs of groundwater from nature objectives. Dehydration can have several causes that can occur simultaneously, i.e. too low groundwater levels in and too low polder levels around the natural areas, groundwater abstractions, the inlet of foreign water and an excessive influence of rainwater.
