Dataset description

This table contains data on the DigiD ownership of the Dutch population. DigiD is the digital login code of the Dutch government. With this digital login code, Dutch citizens can access a government (e.g. tax authorities, UWV, DUO, municipality) or other institutions affiliated to DigiD via the internet (e.g.: health insurer) make known. In this way, one can make tax returns via the internet, apply for benefits and allowances and purchase other information, services and products from the government. The DigiD ownership of the Dutch population is an indication of the use of digitally offered public services. In this table, government means that part of the government, care and non-government that can work with the so-called citizen service number (also called A number, SoFi number). The Dutch population is distinguished in the table according to characteristics such as origin grouping, gender and age. Data available from: 1 July 2008 Status of the figures: The absolute DigiD figures are recorded in full after linking with the municipal basic administration and are final. The relative DigiD figures are calculated on the basis of the total population.
