Dataset description

The table refers to the partner maintenance established in divorce proceedings as laid down in the court’s divorce decision. There is a maintenance obligation for the partner. In principle, the amount of maintenance can be determined freely by the ex-partners. Agreements on this can be included in a divorce agreement. If necessary, the judge will make a decision. In addition to the percentage distribution of the partner maintenance, the median and the arithmetic average of the (monthly payable) partner maintenance are included in the table. Data available from 2001 to 2013. Status of the figures: The data is final. Changes as of 10 March 2016: Figures for 2013 have been added and the table has been discontinued. When are new figures coming? No longer applicable.
