This table shows information on the percentage of homes in the Netherlands by type of main heating installation at regional level. The population consists of the houses in the stock on 1 January of the reporting year, which means that new construction was not included in the reporting year, but houses that are demolished during the year. The type of main heating installation is determined, inter alia, on information on natural gas supplies throughout the reporting year and the energy label applicable at the end of the reporting year. As of 1 July 2018, it is mandatory to build homes free of natural gas. Data available: 2017 to 2020. Status of the figures: 2017 and 2018: Final figures. 2019: Further preliminary figures. 2020: Preliminary figures Changes as of October 2021: The preliminary figures for 2020 have been added. Figures for 2019 have gained further provisional status and 2018 figures have become final. When are new figures coming?
