Dataset description

This table contains figures on actual emissions to air from mobile sources on or above Dutch territory and the Dutch part of the Continental Plat (NCP) (see paragraph 2). The resulting average emission factors, expressed in grams of emissions per kilogram of fuel consumed, are also given. These include emissions from burning (engine) fuels, emissions from evaporation of fuel and cargo residues (VOCs) and (PM10) emissions from tyre wear, brake linings and road surfaces and from the wear of overhead lines and pantographs on the railways. Emissions have been calculated by multiplying activity data, such as vehicle-kilometres and fuel consumption, with the associated emission factors. Data available from 1990 to 2018. Status of the figures: The data for 2018 is provisional, all other figures are final. As this table has been discontinued, the data for 2018 will no longer be finalised. Changes as of 18 March 2020: None, this table has been discontinued. Changes as of 11 September 2019: Addition of preliminary figures for 2018. Changes as of 26 February 2019: — Replace preliminary figures 2017 with final figures. — The NOx emission factor for diesel trains has been increased for all years on the basis of TNO data. — Adjustments have been made to the emission factors for road traffic based on the most recent TNO measurements — The road traffic performance of recent years, in particular in 2016, has been slightly corrected on the basis of the latest data from the National Auto Pass (RDW). This obviously has an impact on the emissions of the relevant years. When are new figures coming? No longer applicable. This table is followed by Emissions to air on Dutch territory; mobile resources. See paragraph 3.
