Employed labour force; creative professions, 2001-2011

In this table you will find data on the working population divided by creative professions and by different characteristics (gender, age groups, country of origin, education, working hours, employment position and company size). The professions are distinguished by type of work and professional level according to creative and other professions. The professions are then divided into the clusters ‘art’, ‘media and entertainment’ and ‘creative business services’. This classification is based on the article ‘Creative Industry in the SBI 2008 business classification’ of TNO and on the article ‘Kunstenaars in the Netherlands’ of CBS. The courses are further divided into creative and non-creative courses. For this purpose, the CBS article ‘Artists in the Netherlands’ has been used as a source. Data available from 2001/2003 to 2009/2011. Status of the figures: Figures are final Changes as of 31 March 2015: None, this table has been discontinued. Changes as of 29 May 2012: The data for the annual average 2009/2011 have been added. In addition, compared to the previous version, this table changes the data on employees with a permanent or flexible employment relationship for all years. The reason for this is that the definition of a flexible employment relationship has been broadened. Previously, employees with a temporary contract and fixed hours with a view to a permanent contract and also employees with a temporary contract of one year or more and fixed hours were counted among the permanent employees. These are now considered to be the flexible employees. Finally, the number of self-employed persons with a non-creative profession was adjusted in the period 2001/2003 due to the fact that it had previously been incorrectly completed. When are new figures coming? This table has been discontinued. The update of 29 May 2012 was the last update of this table. New revised tables on the labour force were published on 26 February 2015. This revision of the statistics of the labour force has two parts. The definitions have been adapted to the internationally agreed definitions and data collection has been improved by being the first statistical office in Europe to survey via the Internet.
