Dataset description

This table provides data on the energy consumption of agricultural and horticultural companies, including the consumption of agricultural wage holdings. This makes a distinction between different energy carriers, such as electricity, natural gas and fuels for tractors. Renewable energy is not included, as reliable figures are not yet available for all forms of renewable energy. A distinction is made between greenhouse horticulture, the other agriculture and horticulture and the wage companies. The other agriculture and horticulture has been further broken down into different farm types as used in the agricultural census. This table has been discontinued as from the summer of 2015 CBS uses the network companies’ customer bases as a source for the natural gas and electricity consumption of agriculture. This source does not currently provide figures on the energy consumption of the agricultural subsectors. The breakdown by subsector is a key element of this table. Figures on the energy consumption of the whole agriculture can be found in the StatLine tables on the Energy Balance. Data available from 1990 to 2013. Status of the figures: The figures for 2012 and earlier are final. The figures for 2013 are provisional. As this table has been discontinued, these data will no longer be definitively made. Changes as of 7 December 2015: None, this table has been discontinued. When are new figures coming? No longer applicable.
