Dataset description

As part of the environmental accounts, CBS annually draws up the air emission accounts together. Here you can find where polluting substances and gases in the air come from (the origin) and where they go go (the destination). Here is the emission of pollutants substances and gases from both stationary sources (such as power plants) as from mobile sources (such as road traffic) imputed to the various industries and households. Optionally, tables can be drawn up for each economic activity (including households), per substance and per year the size of the emissions to the air are displayed. The pollutants that these include greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4, N2O), gases which affect the ozone layer (CFCs) and acidifying substances (SO2, NOx and NH3). Because the data in the environmental accounts are directly linked to the economic data in the National Accounts, it is possible to impact of the Netherlands’ economic performance on the environment to be portrayed in numerical terms. From the air emission accounts can environmental indicators for the environmental themes of global warming, acidification and depletion of the ozone layer is derived. This table was discontinued on 17 November 2011. Data is available from 1990 to 2009. The entire time series from 1990 onwards was adjusted annually to the updated emission figures. Reason to stop: As of June 2011, the new standard business classification will be 2008 (SBI 2008) used by the National Accounts. The National accounts were transferred from the SBI '93 to the 2008 SBI. The Environmental accounts will be closed as of November 2011. Data available from: 1990 Frequency: discontinued
