Fitness centres; customers, subscription prices and amenities

This table provides data on establishments of Dutch fitness centres (SBI 9313) broken down by company size. A number of features of the establishments are described such as the number of customers, the presence of additional facilities in addition to fitness (e.g. childcare, catering, shop, etc.) and subscription prices. Establishments are classified by size according to the company to which they belong. Data available from: 2015. The study has a biennial research cycle. A one-off derogation was made in 2020 due to the particular situation in that year related to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. Status of the figures: The figures for 2020 are preliminary figures. The remaining figures are final figures. Changes as of February 2022: The final figures for 2019 and the provisional figures for 2020 have been added. As of reporting year 2020, physiotherapy and/or sports massage facilities have been included as a separate category in ‘facilities next to fitness’. As a result, the share of establishments with other provisions may be lower. When will there be new figures? The 2021 figures will become available in the first quarter of 2023.
