Flood Risk Directive — Historical Floods EU2020

This dataset contains flood areas that have had significant negative effects on human health, the environment, cultural heritage and economic activity. The EU Flood Risks Directive (ROR) calls on Member States to prepare a preliminary flood risk assessment (Article 4). Part of this is a description of the floods that have occurred in the past and which have had significant negative effects. In this context, the report ‘Flood risk’ in the Netherlands, 2018. Preliminary flood risk assessment and designation of potentially significant flood risk areas under the European Flood Risks Directive (ROR) 2nd cycle: 2016-2021' an overview of major floods that have occurred in the past and have led to significant negative effects. These floods have often had great significance for the development of the water domestic infrastructure of the Netherlands.
