Dataset description

The table shows the number of households with a benefit that is awarded under the General Assistance Act (Abw), the Work Act and assistance (WWB) or income provision under the Investing Act in Young People (WIJ). The Abw was replaced by the WWB on 1 January 2004. As of 1 October 2009, the WIJ entered into force alongside the WWB. The number of households is broken down by different regional divisions. The data are broken down by the following persons and benefits characteristics: — gender; — age; — marital status; — living form; — housing; — number of dependent children; — source of income; — duration of the benefit. Please note: The results do not reflect the number of people that depend on a welfare benefit, but the number of households receiving a benefit has been awarded. This is particularly important for households of (real) couples. In the case of couples, both partners are entitled to equal shares. the benefit, however, is one benefit and will be paid until January 2005 only the characteristics of the person who actually has the benefit the application was taken into account. The figures from January 2005 are choosing to allocate benefits to (real) pairs consistently take over the personal characteristics of the oldest person from the (real) couple. Data available from: January 1998. Status of the figures: The figures have both provisional (as of August 2010) and final character (until August 2010). Presentation of the figures: From 2005 onwards, the table is also updated if not yet of all municipalities have received a notification for a new reporting period. The results at national level have been estimated in case of non-response. The publication of the higher regional classifications (with the exception of the national figures) can only take place when the results of all municipalities are known. Changes as of 30 November 2010: The preliminary figures in September 2010 have been added. When will there be new figures: the table was discontinued with effect from 24 December 2010.
