Dataset description

This table provides insight into the number of benefits under the Work and Assistance Act (WWB). As of 1 January 2004, the WWB replaced the General Assistance Act (Abw). As of 1 January 2012, the Law on Investing in Young People (WIJ) and the Work and Income Artists Act (WWIK) have been repealed. Persons up to 27 years of age and artists may be eligible for a WWB benefit. The data are broken down into the following characteristics: — gender; — age; — region; — living form; — benefit duration. A WWB benefit is intended for households. Although for couples, both partners are entitled to the benefit for equal parts, there is still one benefit. Until January 2005, only the characteristics of the person considered by the municipality as an applicant were taken into account by CBS in the case of (real) couple payments. In the figures from January 2005, when granting benefits to couples, the characteristics of the oldest person of the couple are taken over. Data available from: January 1998 Status of the figures: until December 2012 final. Changes as of 26 April 2013: the figures for 2012 have now been definitively established. When are new figures coming? The table has been discontinued. As of 2013, information on welfare benefits has been split into information on benefits and information on persons with benefits. The emphasis is more on people with benefits. Information on benefits remains available, but is stripped of personal characteristics such as gender and age. The information from this table is divided into two tables: — for information on welfare benefits: table WWB benefits; benefit base, regions — for information on persons with social assistance: table Persons with WWB; personal characteristics.
