Dataset description

This table contains debt guarantees issued by the general government sector, the off-state capital stock of public-private partnerships (PPS) and non-performing loans granted by the general government. The data are also available by subsector of the general government sector and relate to stocks at the end of the year. This table gives effect to the EU Directive 2011/85. This Directive forms part of six European legislative measures known as ‘Sixpack’. Data available from: state of 31 December 2010. Status of the figures: The figures of the most recent end of 2020 have the status for now, the previous final positions have the status definitively. Amendments as of 24 December 2021: The government’s non-performing loans in 2019 and 2020 were revised downwards by 40 million, because it wrongly included a loan between two government units. Changes as of 29 October 2021: New figures for the end of 2020 have become available. Figures for the end of 2019 have become final. Due to the correction of a processing error, the 2018 local government figures for non-performing loans (EUR 5 million) and 2019 (EUR 4 million) have been slightly revised downwards. When are new figures coming? The new preliminary figures for the previous year will be published in October. The preliminary figures previously published will then be given final status. Information on the revision policy of National Accounts can be found under section 3 ‘Relevant articles’.
