Dataset description

This table provides quarterly and annual figures on Dutch emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases (N2O), methane (CH4) and fluorinated gases. These are the emission figures used in the Dutch Climate Agreement presented on 28 June 2019, broken down into five climate sectors (Industry, Electricity, Mobility, Agriculture and Built Environment), and in accordance with the internationally established IPCC regulations. The IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) is an organisation of the United Nations that produces reports on scientific knowledge on climate change. Data available from: 1st Quarter 2019 Status of the figures: The figures corresponding to the four quarters of 2021 have a provisional status, as is the 2021 annual figure. The four quarters of 2019 and 2020 and the annual figures for 2019 and 2020 have final status. In order to achieve a consistent and consistent time series, all emission figures are recalculated annually (including those with a final status according to IPCC requirements) so that the latest insights, in particular with regard to the emission factors, can be taken into account in the recalculation. The annual recalculation is done when the 4th quarter of the most recent reporting year is published (mid-March). Changes as of 16 March 2022: The fourth quarter of 2021 has been added, as is the 2021 annual figure. The whole time series has also been slightly revised as of 2019, both quarterly and annual figures. When will there be new figures? New quarterly preliminary figures are published two and a half months after the end of the quarter.
