Groundwater protection zones

The protection zones around the drinking water extractions (Aalsterweg/Klotputten and Welschap) in Eindhoven are part of this data. These are laid down in the Provincial Environmental Regulation (PMV). Conditions for working within protection zones are included in the PMV. These conditions aim to protect drinking water extractions from potential contaminants. There are three zones: water extraction areas, 25-year zone and the drilling-free zone. A different protection regime applies within the different zones. Where the water extraction area is subject to the strictest regime, descending to the drilling-free zone where the least stringent regime applies. The province is the competent authority to grant an exemption for working in the protection areas. For publication we use the GIS service of the Province of North Brabant.
