Groundwater Quality Research

Data on soil quality research (Groundwater analysis report in English) are stored in the basic subsurface registration (BRO). The groundwater composition study registration object shall contain the final results of groundwater quality research. In addition, a groundwater sample was used from a tube in a well-known groundwater monitoring well. This study was carried out under the responsibility of a laboratory. We use groundwater for various purposes. For example, it can be the raw material for drinking water or water supply for nature. Which applications the groundwater qualifies for depends mainly on its quality. Traditionally, water extraction companies in the Netherlands monitor the quality of the groundwater pumped up. In order to perform this monitoring task properly, they can sample groundwater on and near the pumping station and have them examined in laboratories. For the more regional monitoring of groundwater quality, the national and provincial authorities have increasingly taken over this task in recent decades. But at the win locations, the water extraction companies will of course continue to monitor groundwater quality themselves.
