Dataset description

This table contains figures on the turnover and volume development of hairdressers and beauty care. The figures can be broken down by industry according to the Standard Business Classification (SBI 2008) of the CBS. The trend is shown as a percentage change from a previous period and by indexes based on the 2015 base year. Sales and volume developments are published in two forms. First of all, as year-on-year developments where growth is central to the same period in the previous year. These figures are presented uncorrected. The second form concerns period-on-period developments, e.g. quarter-on-quarter. Period-on-period developments are possible by applying seasonal adjustment. Data available from: 1st quarter of 2005. Status of the figures: The figures for 2021 are provisional, the remaining figures are final. The figures for a calendar year shall become definitive no later than five months after the end of that calendar year. Due to fulfilled response, the figures may change until then and the status of ‘provisional’ is maintained. Changes as of 28 February 2022: The figures for Q4 2021 have been added. Figures from previous periods in 2021 may have been adjusted. Due to the traceability of unpublished figures in Q1 2021, quarterly developments in volume should not have been shown in Q2 2021. This has now been corrected. Due to the government measures related to the coronavirus, some services were not available or limited in the first quarter of 2021. As a result, there have been no transactions for some of these services whose prices could be measured. The lack of sufficient transactions is the reason why there are no volume figures for some branches. When will there be new figures? For monthly statistics, the CBS publishes as a rule six to eight weeks after the end of the reporting month. For quarterly statistics, the CBS publishes on the last working day of the second month following the quarter. After publication of the final results, the CBS adapts the results only if major adjustments and/or corrections are necessary.
