Dataset description

This table provides data on expenditure on care at actual prices, presenting expenditure to groups of providers according to three approaches: Care expenditure is based on the broadest approach, taking into account all activities in the field of care, including well-being, regardless of whether these activities take place as a main or ancillary activity. 2 Health expenditure following the international definition of the System of Health Accounts. In doing so, all activities are broken down into a part intended for health, and a part that falls outside and includes, for example, welfare care. 3 Health care expenses paid out of compulsory insurance. This is the part of the care expenses under 1), but then paid through the Health Insurance (formerly by the Health Insurance Fund), and long-term care insurance, the Long-term Care Act (Wlz) (and until 2015 the General Act on Special Medical Expenses (AWBZ)). The obligation consists of compulsory participation. Data available from 1998 to 2016 Status of the figures: The figures for 2016 and 2015 are further provisional. As this table has been discontinued, these figures are no longer definitive. Figures from the other years are final. Changes as of 31 May 2018: This table has been discontinued. When are new figures coming? No longer applicable. Due to a revision of the health accounts, this table was followed up by a new table “Care expenditure in three approaches” (see paragraph 3).
