Dataset description

This table shows the number of defaulters under the Health Insurance Act on 31 December of the years 2006-2009, by province and 4 major cities. The number of default payers at the end of 2010 is not comparable to the number of default payers published over the years 2006-2009 due to the difference in definitions used and the change in the method of delivery of the data. Data available from 2006-2009 Status of the figures: These are definitive figures. Changes as of 26 April 2012: The figures for 2009 have been corrected and the table has been discontinued. When determining the number of default payers at the end of 2009, the ages of the persons concerned were incorrectly calculated not as at 31 December but as at 30 September of the relevant reporting year. As a result, some of the people in the wrong age group are classified. The difference in the number of defaulters is greatest at the lowest age category (18 to 20 years), because in this case the outflow to the next higher age category is not compensated by inflows from a lower class. When are new figures coming? No longer applicable. Data on non-payers as of 2010 can be found via the link to the folder ‘wage payers health insurance’ in paragraph 3.
