Dataset description

The burden on the soil with heavy metals has been an important issue in the environment and agricultural policy for some time now. The accumulation (accumulation) of heavy metals in the soil resulting from this can, among other things, cause health problems for livestock. Due to regulations that limit the levels of heavy metals in livestock feed and the use of cleaner raw materials in fertiliser production, the load on the soil has decreased considerably over the years. The tax on agricultural land with heavy metals is caused by feed through animal feed, fertilisers, other fertilisers, and precipitation (deposition). In addition, research by the CLM (Centre for Agriculture and Environment) has shown that the use of copper sulphate in foot baths for dairy cattle also makes a significant contribution to soil taxation (Boer et al. (2006)). The national quantity of this source has not been investigated. This table shows balance sheets of heavy metal copper (Cu), zinc (Zn) and cadmium (Cd) on agricultural land for the years 1980, 1986, 1990 and 1993 to 2009, broken down by various supply and disposal posts. The landing (gross load) includes data on animal manure, fertiliser, precipitation (deposition) and other sources (such as compost, wastewater treatment sludge and pesticides). The removal from agricultural land takes place through extraction with crops. This is broken down by arable crops, grassland crops and horticultural crops. By deducting the discharge of the supply (gross tax), the net tax is calculated. Due to the limited amount of data and the limited accuracy of the data, the figures have been strongly rounded. The figures from 2001 of the landings of heavy metals with animal manure have been calculated using a new method from the Theme-publication: Emissions of seven heavy metals on agricultural land, as data from the old method are no longer available. Data available: 1980-2009 Status of the figures: All figures are final. When are new figures coming? This table has been discontinued as of 20-11-2012.
