Dataset description

This table contains data on air pressure, precipitation, days with precipitation, days with snow, hours of sunshine and the number of frost, ice and summer days before the 5 main stations en. De Kooy (gem. Den Helder), Eelde, De Bilt, Vlissingen and Beek(L). In addition, this table provides climate data from the weather station De Bilt. The longest running series in this table are those of the winter and summer average temperature. They start in 1800. Annual average temperature series and quantity sunshine per year begins in 1900. Of the days with a certain temperature (ice days, summer days) the series began between 1940 and 1950. Since 1980 there are figures about the whole set of climate data. The Netherlands has a temperate sea climate. This is characterised by cool summers and mild winters. The average temperature on the coast in summer about 16 degrees and in winter about 3 degrees. The average temperature inland in the summer is approximately 17 degrees and in winter about 2 degrees. Data available from 1800-1999.
