Dataset description

This file contains areas for improvements of national highways as established in the Environmental Vision of Groningen 2016-2020. The main shipping route Lemmer-Delfzijl is made suitable for larger vessels (ship class Va). The upgrade of the Van Starkenborgh Canal is already happening. In addition, several bridges across the Eems Canal need to be replaced. The government pays for the improvement of this national naval road. In addition, we want the capacity of Zeesluis Delfzijl to be increased as a link between that main shipping road and the inland shipping routes in Germany. For the Groningen part we do the project management, planning study, planning development and realisation of, among other things, the replacement of bridges.
