Dataset description

This table provides information on the total amount of waste generated from industry, excluding the wastewater collection and treatment industries, waste collection, waste treatment, and remediation other waste management. The total amount of waste released is broken down by type of waste (=waste category) and the method of treatment or treatment (re-use or final treatment). Landfilling and incineration of waste are the most important forms of final processing. The table provides information for total Netherlands, by country and by province. Commercial wastes are distinguished in hazardous and non-hazardous waste. This table only provides information on non-hazardous waste. A distinction is made between chemical and non-chemical waste. The non-chemical wastes are further disaggregated. In May 2002, the European Waste Regulation listing the European Waste List (EURAL) entered into force. As a result, the Dutch Waste Code list has expired. The EURAL was used for the first time in 2004. The 2004 figures per waste category are not quite comparable to the results of previous years. The Eural Code uses a different classification of the substance types than the Dutch waste list at the time. For this reason, this table only contains figures from 2004 onwards. For a reference to tables with figures for the years for 2004: see paragraph 3. Data available from: 2004 Status of the figures: all figures are final When are new figures coming? Not, this table was discontinued as of 13 January 2012
