Dataset description

The government instructs the provinces in the design of the Decree on general spatial planning to include rules for the bundling of new urban developments. These should primarily take place in urban areas. If there is insufficient space on the basis of quality or quantity, it is possible that an urban development within Urbanisation will be carried out in balance. These areas have been identified in the past (2004) following the application of the layer approach and weighing up as areas where, under conditional conditions, there may be opportunities for expansion. If new space is needed, using various basic principles for a balanced allocation of functions, a concrete interpretation is considered. There are therefore locations where after consideration a development is possible, but where intensive urbanisation based on the duty of care for environmental quality is not appropriate.
