Dataset description

The table provides data on commuting between residential and working regions of workers’ jobs. The survey period is the month of December of the year shown. The data are broken down by country, province and RegioPlus labour market region. All calculations relate to workers’ jobs. The commute figures are displayed for two groups. The group 'Care: cure and others’ includes the AZW Branches ‘University Medical Centers’, ‘Hospitals and other med. spec. care’, ‘Huisarts and health centres’ and ‘Other care and well-being’. The group 'All ec. act., excl care: cure and other' includes the remaining AZW Branches and the jobs in the other economic sectors A to You. This deviates from the regular classification on AZW StatLine. It is assumed that employees in the non-included AZW Branches do not work at the establishment(s) of companies or institutions, but for example, ambulant/close to home. As a result, one lives and works in the same region by definition, and there is no regional shuttle between where one works and the establishment where one works. These branches within the ‘care and well-being’ are included in ‘Alle ec. act., excl care: cure and other', but is only a limited share here. This table was developed in the framework of the research programme Labour Market Care and Welfare (AZW).For more trends and developments in the labour market in care and well-being, see azwstatline.cbs.nl. Data available from: 2014. Status of the figures: The figures in this table are provisional. Changes as of 19 May 2022: The table is supplemented by figures for 2020. The figures for previous periods have been revised as a result of the use of more recent sources. Changes as of 20 May 2021: The table is supplemented by figures for 2019. The figures for previous periods have been revised as a result of the use of more recent sources. Figures have also been added about the balance of commuting throughout the economy. Finally, the labels of the ‘AZW Branches’ for this table have been adapted to better reflect the actual content of the labels. The label ‘Care and well-being broad’ has been replaced by ‘Care: cure and other’, the label for all economic activities ‘A-U (excl. T and U’) has been replaced by ‘All ec. act., excl care: cure and other’. The figures for the labels, subject to the changes mentioned above, remained the same. When are new figures coming? The figures for 2021 are expected in the first half of 2023.
