Dataset description

This table contains figures on the job seekers registered with the employment agencies for the Netherlands and Flanders. For the Netherlands, these are people who receive a WW benefit through the UWV. For Flanders, these are job seekers registered with the Flemish Labour Mediation Service (VDAB). For the different divisions, a breakdown by the desired profession (main professional group and profession field) and region is available. The Competent classification was used as used by the Flemish Employment Agency (VDAB) and of which the UWV is developing a Dutch version. The status of this information is that this is experimental data. Firstly, the employment populations are incomparable. These are determined by national legislation. By definition, they are different. These populations also deviate from the official demarcation of unemployment according to an internationally harmonised definition of the ILO published by CBS and Statbel. In addition, the Dutch version of Competent is still in full development. The figures can be used to give an impression of the regional differences in the Netherlands and Flanders in terms of the employment placement population by occupation. This information was compiled in the context of an Interreg project within the Flanders-Netherlands programme to make cross-border labour market data available. It concerns monthly figures. The data includes Dutch regions and for Belgium includes the regions of Flanders and the Brussels-Capital Region. Data available from: May 2021 Status of the figures: The figures in this table are provisional. Changes per 3. December 2021: This is not a new table. When are new figures coming? The new figures will be available in Q4 2021.
